I am beginning my sixth year at Lewisburg Primary School after being at Lewisburg Elementary School for 2 years. This is my 30th year in education. I taught for 4 years in Atlanta, GA. I then moved to Starkville, MS where I became a teacher then a counselor. I worked there for 14 years. In 2004, I moved to DeSoto county and have been working for the DCS since.

Welcome to the Counselor's Corner!!!
I am so excited to begin my 6th year as Lewisburg Primary School's counselor! We have a school full of Kids of Integrity! I am so proud of how they all strive to choose what is true, good, and right! Teaching the Integrity Time lessons is one of the highlights of my week.
In addition to teaching Integrity Time, I counsel children individually and in small groups. Teachers, parents, and children may all make a counseling referral. I work with children on a variety of concerns that may include self-esteem, family changes, feelings, behavior, etc. If it's on their mind we can talk about it.
I use a child-centered approach to counseling. The techniques used are determined on an individual basis that best fit the child's personality and concerns. Also, I am currently working to become a Registered Play Therapist. Play is the language of children. Many things are worked out through play. The play techniques I am learning have been beneficial in helping children work through their feelings and concerns.
Please contact me with any questions and concerns you may have. I am always willing to do what I can to help you and your children have a fabulous experience at Lewisburg Primary School!
